Halfway between Central Park and the East River is this room for rent located in a four bedroom apartment at East 105th & 2nd Avenue in Harlem. Here you won't find skyscrapers or tourist crowds, but a laid back neighborhood offering something for everyone. The duplex apartment occupies the 1st and 2nd floor (considered 1st by Europeans) of a 7-story building built in 2002 with laundry facilities and a security system.

The first room available for rent is bedroom 1 situated on the 1st floor. It is furnished with a queen sized bed, a wardrobe and dresser where you can store your belongings and has a TV with cable. There is also a mini fridge. But the highlight of this bedroom is the exclusive access to the backyard! You will appreciate having your own outdoor space to relax and sun in the summer months, or have a drink after work or school! You will share the bathroom with your first floor roommates. Going up to the second floor there is the kitchen, equipped with everything from oven and microwave to coffee maker and toaster.

* Please note that there is no access to the living room *.

All the basic amenities can be found around this apartment share. There is a "Fine Fare'' supermarket on the same block, pharmacies one block north on 106th street and many corner stores where you can get your morning coffee or last minute groceries. But there is a lot more to see in this part of Manhattan:

- The Museum Mile: designating Fifth Avenue from 82nd to 110th Street, the Museum Mile hosts no less than 10 museums, bringing richness and cultural diversity to The Upper East Side and Harlem. They include El Museo del Barrio where you can find an excellent collection of Latin American Art and the Museum of the City of New York dedicated to the culture, people, and history of New York, both half-a-mile away (800 m). A little further on 88th and 82nd streets are the world famous Guggenheim and the MET (Metropolitan Museum of Art).

- Central Park: no need to introduce this giant park in the heart of New York City, haven for strollers, athletes or daydreamers who can spend an entire day playing sports, walking around and enjoying the surroundings or simply lay down under the shade of a tree and relax!

- Restaurants: Walk 10 blocks north on 116th Street and you will find many affordable restaurants, including some of New York's best Mexican food! Try Taco Mix, Sandy, or El Nuevo Caridad. To find the original New York thin-crust pizza, head 0.8 miles (1.3 km) north to Patsy's pizza.

This area is served by the line 6 at the 103 Street / Lexington Avenue subway station. Take it uptown to go the the Bronx, or downtown for lower Manhattan or Brooklyn, passed Grand Central Station, a transit hub where you can transfer to other subway lines as well as trains to other cities.
